A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing the scolex (front end) of Taenia pisiformis, a type of dog tapeworm, stained red and magnified 40x. The scolex is the portion of the tapeworm that attaches to the gut wall. The four circular suckers and ring of outward projecting hooks are used for attachment.
