A Photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing the glass skeletons of radiolaria, magnified 100x. Radiolaria skeletons vary considerably in size and shape, but are typically perforated by numerous holes or pores and are equipped with spines that provide protection for the living radiolaria (when present).
