A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing Paramecium caudatum, stained brownish-orange and magnified 100x. The Paramecium is spindle-shaped with rounded ends, and is covered with cilia (hair-like, locomotor structures). The large dark structure inside the cell is the nucleus.
