A Photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing Onchocerca volvulus in cross section, stained pinkish-purple and magnified 100x. The large, oval-shaped structure extending diagonally across the field of view is a section through an adult worm. The smaller oval inside is the worm uterus and contains many, tightly coiled, purple-colored larvae.
