Ixodes dammini (w.m.)
A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing a male deer tick (Ixoides dammini) magnified 15x. The adult deer tick has a small, flattened, pear-shaped body and eight jointed legs. The dark oval near the end of the abdomen is a genital pore. Light-colored markings around the genital pore resemble an “X” and are useful for identification.
