Hookworm infective larvae (w.m.)

A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing the infective larvae of a hookworm (e.g., Necator or Ancylostoma) magnified 100x. These larvae appear as slender, straight rods that are sharply pointed at the tail end, and tapered to a rounded point at the mouth end. The larvae are nearly transparent, and their internal organs are not clearly visible.
