A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing the green algae Cladophora stained blue-green and magnified 40x. The multiple, rod-shaped cells are connected together forming filaments that branch at irregular intervals. These green algae tend to form moss-like mats on the surfaces of wet soil or submerged rocks. Mats are easily visible to the naked eye.
