Ceratium (w.m.)
Photomicrograph of the dinoflagellate Ceratium magnified 400x. Magnification: 400X. A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing several dinoflagellates in the genus Ceratium stained pink and magnified 400x. Each cell has one long anterior horn and two posterior horns. A promininent transverse furrow divides each cell into upper and lower portions. The whip-like action of a flagellum within this furrow causes living cells to spin through their water environment.
