Bacterial flagellar stain
Photomicrograph of bacteria with peritrichous flagella. Magnification: 1000x. A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing many rod-shaped bacteria that have been stained with a flagellar stain and magnified 1000x. The flagella appear as hair-like strands that extend outward from the cells in various directions. The flagellar arrangement is peritrichous (flagella are all over the cell surface).
