A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing several Amoeba proteus stained pink and magnified 100x. The dark oval-shaped structure visible within each cell is the nucleus. The branch-like extensions of protoplasm are pseudopodia or false feet and represent structures used for both locomotion and food getting.
