Albugo bliti (w.m.)
Photomicrograph of Albugo bliti or white rust within a leaf cross section showing asexual sporangiospores. Magnification: 100x. A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing Albugo bliti or white rust within a leaf cross section, magnified 100x. The asexual sporangiospores cause the leaf epidermis to be stretched outward forming a blister or pustule on the underside of the leaf. These spores resemble conidiospores, but are considered sporangiospores because they are contained within a sac formed by the leaf epidermis. In some texts they are referred to as sporangioconidiospores.
