A photomicrograph of a prepared slide showing Saccharomyces cerevisiae or brewers yeast, stained pink and blue and magnified 1000x. The vegetative cells appear as pink ovals, sometimes with smaller cells (buds) attached. The sexual ascospores (two or four to an ascus) are stained blue.
